Where can I find/buy the "dome-shaped plastic cups"?

Does anyone know the size & Price??

    Thanks

This may be a long shot, but Hubby and I discussed this when we were restringing a few dolls...

What if you used something else? We wondered about the feet you can buy to go on the bottoms of chair legs? Some of them are more rounded than others, and as lond as it was very similar in size, I think it would work. Just drill a hole in the bottom?

We also talked about the med-small plastic Easter eggs you see around the holidays. But some of those are very brittle, so that would probably not be the best bet.

I wonder if those Springfield dolls at the craft stores have similar cups? Michaels has a 40% off coupon almost every week...

Worst case, you could send her to AG for limb reattachment ($20) and I am sure they would automatically include the cup.

Please let us know what you come up with.

This is a tough one. Someone on another list mentioned that she had gotten a whole box of supplies from Gotz years back, but then I think she was a doll distributor for them. I have had to sacrifice a doll I couldn't stand for these once. I don't have any more though...

    Thanks for your responses!

I have 2 fixers dolls coming from e-bay - they both need to have a leg re-attached. I am not sure if the pieces are missing - just trying to solve a problem...before I even have one.

Cups aren't really necessary on the inside of the doll's torso, but are an absolute necessity on the inside of the limb.

I haven't done this myself, but I've heard that the plastic caps from 2-liter soda bottles can be substituted for the cups--I should think they would work just fine.

(P.S. Springfield dolls have a totally different type of joint--"button-style", I think it's called--and it doesn't involve any elastic or cups at all.)

We just had this problem this today! We had to replace the cup inside of the leg. We ended up using a 1" wooden half ball from Michaels. We drilled a whole down the center for the cord and then used a larger bit on the back side to hollow it out some. We did not go all the way through with the larger bit. We used the hair dryer to warm up the doll leg in order to get the ball in.

I am still thinking on what would work on the joint inside of the doll body. I had picked up some 7/8" metal buttons (that you cover with fabric) since they are sort of cup shaped but not as deep. I figured I could easily pop a whole thru the center of them. I forgot to try them against the joint while I had the doll apart. Darn it.

If either of the cups on the joint is in good shape, you could use it on the inside of the body and use something else on the joint in the limb. Just a thought.

I got a fixer doll that had replaced the cups with washers and they seemed fine. They left the Cups in the doll so I had DH re-use them, but it seemed to have served the purpose
